The Role
As the Sport Development Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the organisations with the delivery, development, and sustainability of our programmes and events. This includes introducing new activities to the Auckland region and further developing those already established. You will be the face of DSA, building strong relationships with participants, families, stakeholders and the community to grow engagement, participation and collaboration opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Champion Programmes
Assist in planning, organising, and delivering regional sessions, programmes, monthly events, and other identified opportunities.
Ensure programmes are designed to be sustainable and impactful for all participants.
Grow Participation & Pathways
Support the implementation of strategies to expand the participant base and create pathways for players, coaches, and volunteers.
Be the Face of Disability Sport Auckland
Develop strong relationships with:
a. Young people participating in our programmes
b. Parents, guardians, and carers
c. Disability Sport Auckland members and stakeholders
d. Internal DSA team and partners
Flexibility & Collaboration
Adapt to the changing needs of the organisation and take on additional tasks when required.
Be prepared to travel across Auckland and work flexible hours to meet the demands of events, competitions, and programme delivery.
Experience & Skills
Essential:
Experience working in the Disability, health, sport sector
A passion for empowering people to achieve through sport
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Desirable:
An understanding of disability and Para sport
Experience in coaching or delivering sport and recreation activities
Experience working with individuals with disabilities
A commitment to personal and professional development
