Wheel Blacks Paralympic Qualifier Tournament - Day Three

Day 3: Intensity and Focus 🏉
Day three of our journey in Wellington was characterized by unwavering determination, intense training sessions, and invaluable insights as we continued to hone our skills for the Paralympic qualifier tournament.
The day commenced with a dedication to personal well-being, as I indulged in some "me time" swimming before joining the team for breakfast at 7:30am. Fuelled and ready, we plunged into a rigorous training session, alternating between intense gameplay and insightful debriefs every six minutes. This structure ensured that our processes were not only understood but ingrained within our collective.
Following a satisfying lunch and some well-deserved downtime back at the hotel, we reconvened for the afternoon session from 2 to 4pm, marked by heightened intensity. Intervals of four minutes of relentless play and two minutes of rest pushed us to make tougher decisions and refine our "end of quarter" strategies, solidifying our readiness for the challenges ahead.
As the day drew to a close, we prioritized recovery and refuelling with a nourishing dinner. We engaged in a video session, focusing on our line-ups and conducting a comprehensive debrief on Brazil—the opponent awaiting us in our second game of the Paralympic qualifier tournament.
The highlight of the evening was a visit from Raylene Bates, the Paris 2024 Chef de Mission for Paralympics New Zealand, who bestowed her heartfelt well-wishes upon our team. "I want to see you in Paris," she affirmed, igniting our determination to leave everything on the court.
Stay tuned as we march forward with unwavering resolve, ready to seize our moment on the quarter at the New Zealand Campus of Innovation and Sport tomorrow.
